Eastern District -- North Point is a blend of contemporary and luxurious developments with old Chinese buildings.
Some films requiring modern settings were shot here (Infernal Affairs), but the district also offers old-fashion locations for movies set in the past (In the Mood for Love) or for present-day gritty thrillers (Beast Stalker, Full Alert).
The South China Athletic Association, formerly known as the "Chinese Football Team," was founded in 1908. In 1910 it was renamed "South China Football Club" and in 1920 it gained its current name. Caroline Hill Road in Causeway Bay was chosen as its venue in 1927. The football department, the South Football Team, is the best known among South China Athletic Association’s various sports departments. As the cradle of football in Hong Kong, the South Football Team has nurtured a lot of famous players. The1950s and the 1960s were the golden age of Hong Kong football. The Chinese team won the football championship in the 1954 and 1958 Asian Games. Football players from the South Football Team were the backbone of the Chinese team at that time.
Wong Kar-wai’s Days of Being Wild is set in the 1960s. Su Li Zhen (Maggie Cheung) who works in a store at the South China Athletic Association has a short romance with Yuddy (Leslie Cheung).
皇 龍道是位於天后廟道南端的一條支路，在電影《92黑玫瑰對黑玫瑰》(92 Legendary La Rose
Noire) 中，奇哥 (梁家輝 / Tony Leung Ka-fai) 站在皇龍道上，倚著大廈外牆，
以其招牌站姿托著腮正式出場，打發正在路上調戲蝴蝶 (邵美琪 / Maggie Siu) 的流氓。
樹立於路中心的細樹榕可說是皇龍道的地標，
這棵榕樹曾在97年舉辦的香港市區樹王選舉被選為東區樹王。看見這棵樹，
隱約浮現站在樹下那深情的奇哥 正為蝴蝶憂心的畫面。
Dragon Road is an extension of the southern end of Tin Hau Temple Road.
In 92’ Legendary La Rose Noire, Keith Lui (Tony Leung Ka-fai) makes his formal appearance here: he leans on the external wall of a building on Dragon Road, holds his head in his hands and then drives the rascal who molests Butterfly (Maggie Siu) away. The Banyan tree in the middle of Dragon Road, a local landmark, reminds people of the scene in which Keith Lui cares for Butterfly.
漢 基國際學校於1983年由馮慶鏘夫人、傅劉健瑜、戴潘靜嫦這三位亞洲女性所創辦，
是香港首間以英文和中文﹝普通話﹞教授國際課程的學校。其位於寶馬山頂的 校園於
1991年啓用，那裡可以俯瞰維多利亞港的美麗海景。在《逃學威龍 2》(Fight back to school 2) 中，
這裡易名為 Adam Smith International School，並被國際恐怖份子盯上藉以挾持這裡的學生作
人質以要脅英國政府釋放其同黨。周星星 (周星馳 / Stephen Chow) 為了證明他是飛虎隊第
一號殺手，決定與細龜 (黃一山 / Gabriel Wong) 等人再次扮成學生混入學校以盡快破案。
The Chinese International School was built in 1983 by three Asian women. It is the first Hong Kong school with bilingual programs (English and Chinese Mandarin). Its campus on Braemar Hill overlooks the beautiful Victoria Harbor.
In Fight Back to School 2, it is turned into the Adam Smith International School. There, a group of international terrorists holds the students hostage and threaten the British government into releasing their gang members. In order to prove himself the top killer in the local SWAT team (or Special Duties Unit), Stephen Chow decides to team up with Gabriel Wong and to go undercover in the school. They pretend to be students to solve the case.

Tung Hei Road Mini-bus Station / 東喜道小巴站

位 於筲箕灣港鐵站A1出口的東喜道小巴站，是電影《忘不了》(Lost in Time) 的主要場景。
在戲中，小慧 (張柏芝 / Cecilia Cheung) 駕著逝去未婚夫亞文 (古天樂 / Louis Koo)
那代表「一生一世」(1314) 的小巴，咬緊牙關地克服那艱難的時期；另一邊廂因嗜賭弄致妻
離子散的大輝 (劉青雲 / Lau Ching-wan)，也在那裡孤獨痛苦地活著。同是天涯淪落人，
大輝對小慧的同情，小慧對大輝的感激，漸漸地發展出一段微妙的感情關係，
東喜道小巴站正 好見證著這段關係的產生。
The Tung Hei Road Mini-bus Station is the major location for Lost in Time. It is located at Exit A1 of the Sau Kei Wan MTR station. Siu Wai (Cecilia Cheung) takes over the mini-bus business of her late fiancé Ah Man (Louis Koo). She has a hard time and strives to overcome the difficulties. Dai Fai (Lau Ching Wan), a mini-bus driver who lost his wife and son because of his gambling addiction, helps Siu Wai out. Siu Wai and Dai Fai gradually fall for each other. The Mini-bus Station witnesses how their relationship develops.

Lei Yue Mun Park & Holiday Village / 鯉魚門公園及度假村

Covering an area of around 23 hectares, Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village is located in Shau Kei Wan. As the former Ley Yue Mun Barrack, it is now the only leisure resort in the Hong Kong’s urban area. During the 2003 SARS outbreak, this place was also used as a quarantine facility.
In Infernal Affairs, Ley Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village is turned into a Police training academy. A young Chen Wing Yan (Shawn Yue) reluctantly leaves the school to become an undercover after being dismissed by Superintendent Wong (Anthony Wong). He turns his head back and looks at the school gate before departing.

Sunning Plaza /新寧大廈

新寧大廈位處香港銅鑼灣希慎道，於1982年落成，樓高30 層，由著名建築師貝聿銘 (I. M. Pei) 設計。大廈是七十後或以上的影迷的集體回憶，因在八十年代掀起英雄片熱潮的《英雄本色》
(A Better Tomorrow) 其中一幕 Signature Shot (大哥成被數個跟班傍著意氣風發地從新寧大廈
行出來) 就在這裡取景。不過，新寧大廈將被重建成一幢43層高的商廈連酒店，
又一個集體回憶要消失了。
Sunning Plaza is located at Hysan Avenue, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The plaza featuring 30 floors was completed in 1982 and was designed by the famous Chinese-American architect Leoh Ming Pei.
This is a place that talks to lovers of the 1980s films. This is here John Woo’s cult film A Better Tomorrow was shot. One of the scenes that has become a classic sequence from the film was shot here. Big Brother Shing (Waise Lee) wearing a white coat and shades walks proudly out of the building with his men. However, as the building was refurbished to be a 43-storey commercial building and hotel, this landmark of HK film locations seems to have been forgotten.

North Point Government Office / 北角政府合署

典型的新式政府辦公大樓。在《無間道》 ( Infernal Affairs) 中，這裡是梁朝偉 (Chen Wing-yan / Tony Leung) 知道劉德華 (Lau Kin-ming / Andy Lau) 的臥底身份後，相約劉談判的天台場景。
A typical model of contemporary buildings for the government. This building is a head office for the HK administration. In Infernal Affairs, it is on the rooftop of this building that Chan Wing-yan (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) meets Lau Kin-ming (Andy Lau) after he found out who he truly is.
Location: Wan Chai Gap Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, between Queen’s Road East & Kennedy Road 灣仔峽道 Film: Crazy N' the City 神經俠侶 (2005) / Dir: James Yuen 阮世生
In its southern part, Wan Chai Gap Road converges to the junction between Peak Road and Stubbs Road, while in its northern part, it links Kennedy Road to Queen’s Road. So it nicely fills in some gaps in the Wan Chai area!
In Tsui Hark’s Dangerous Encounter - 1st Kind, four young thugs run into a cold-blooded American drug dealer here. They steal the dealer’s money and therefore sign up their death warrants on this very road.
In James Yuen's ‘Crazy N' the City’, police officer Liu Tak Nam (Joey Yung) is taunted by a child (Daichi Harashima) with a water gun here.
The location for Crazy N' the City is between Queen’s Road East & Kennedy Road. The location for Dangerous Encounter - 1st Kind is near Bamboo Grove (just below Kennedy Road).

St. Margaret's Church /聖瑪加利教堂
Location: 1 Broadwood Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong 樂活道1號 Film:A Moment of Romance 天若有情 (1990) / Dir: Benny Chan 陳木勝
聖瑪加利教堂是東方第一所以聖女瑪加利（St. Margaret Mary Alacoque）為名的教堂，
位於跑馬地樂活道1號，由「宗座外方傳教會」(P.I.M.E.) 建立，於1923年2月3日由翟伯祿神父
奠基， 1925年1月25日祝聖啟用，1949年1月25日升格為堂區。
聖瑪加利教堂屬「古典復興主義」建築，現 已被列為香港二級歷史建築。在電影《天若有情》
(A Moment of Romance) 的尾段，華弟 (劉德華 / Andy Lau) 與 JoJo (吳倩蓮 / Wu Chien-lien) 就在教堂前作最後的告別。
St. Margaret's Church is the first church named after Sister St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in Asia. It is located at 1 Broadwood Road and was built by the Pontifical Foreign Missions Institute. It is listed as a grade II historic building in Hong Kong.
In Benny Chan’s A Moment of Romance, Dee (Andy Lau) and Jojo (Wu Chien-lien) have their final farewell in front of the church.

Po Leung Kuk / 保良局
Location: 66 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay銅鑼灣禮頓道66號 Film:Lost in Time 忘不了 (2003) / Dir: Derek Yee 爾冬陞
19 世紀末的香港，誘拐婦孺、逼良為娼、販賣人口的事情經常發生。在1878年11月8日，
東莞縣僑商盧賡揚、馮普熙、施笙階、謝達盛等聯名上書當時的港督軒 尼詩爵士 (Sir John Pope
Hennessy)，請准設立保良公局，以保赤安良為宗旨。1880年5月獲港督批准，
1882年8月英國理藩院通過「保良局條例」，並刊於憲報。後來為 紀念創局的艱辛，
遂將11月8日定為保良局創局紀念日。隨著香港社會的轉變，
保良局現已成為香港一個龐大的社會服務機構。在電影《忘不了》(Lost in Time) 中，
被生活迫至走投無路的小慧 (張柏芝 / Cecilia Cheung) ，忍痛拖著逝去未婚夫亞文 (古天樂 /
Louis Koo) 的兒子樂樂 (原島大地 / Daichi Harashima) ，準備將他交托給孤兒院。
在保良局門前的這場戲，可說是電影中最感動的一幕。
At the end of 19th century, Hong Kong people suffered from frequent abduction, sex trafficking and human trafficking. In order to fight the crime, a group of local businessmen petitioned to the governor (Sir John Pope Henessy) on in November 1878 to set up an association called Po Leung Kuk. The petition was approved by the governor in May 1880 and passed as an ordinance in August 1882. Po Leung Kuk has gradually become a large social service organization whose aim is the improvement in Hong Kong’s social security.
In Lost in Time, Siu Wai (Cecilia Cheung) has great difficulty raising the son of her late fiancée, Lok Lok (Daichi Harashima). She wants to send him to an orphanage. The sequence between Siu Wai and Lok Lok in front of Po Leung Kuk is the most moving scene of the movie.

Sunbeam Theatre 新光戲院
Location: North Point, HONG KONG Film:Beyond our Ken 公主復仇記 (2004) / Dir: Edmond Pang Ho-cheung 彭浩翔
The Sunbeam Theatre was built in 1972. This is a renowned place for Cantonese Opera performance. It is even called the Temple of Cantonese Opera. In Beyond Our Ken, this is the place where Shirley (Tao Hong) invites Ken (Daniel Wu) to go and watch a film, so Chan Wai-Ching (Gillian Chung) has enough time to
make a copy the man's house keys.

Kiu Kwah Mansion / 僑冠大廈
Location: North Point, HONG KONG Film:Heroic Duo 雙雄 (2003) / Dir: Benny Chan 陳木勝
僑冠大廈在1960s是香港親共產黨左派的重要據點。1967年，香港親共產黨的左派在中
國文化大革命的影響下，展開對抗英國殖民地政府的暴動。事件由最初的罷工、示威，
發展至後期的暗殺、放置炸彈。期間，港英政府出動訪港英軍航空母艦上的直昇機從天台
降落，上下夾攻僑冠大廈。
在《雙雄》(Heroic Duo) 中，鄭伊健 (Ken / Ekin Cheng) 就在這裡圍捕吳鎮宇
(Hoi / Francis Ng)。
In the 1960s, Kiu Kwan Mansion was a strategic centre for the HK leftists close to the communist party. In 1967, influenced by the Cultural Revolution unfolding in China, the left forces initiated a rebellion against the British colonial regime. Strikes and demonstrations ensued, leading later to a series of assassinations and other attacks. The colonial government had to bring helicopters in from the aircraft carrier dispatched to watch the island. Choppers joined in the subsequent assault on the Kiu Kwan Mansion.
In Heroic Duo, this is the place where Ken (Ekin Cheng) captures Hoi (Francis Ng).

North Point Road Footbridge / 北角道天橋
Location: North Point, HONG KONG Film: The Beast Stalker 証人 (2008) / Dir: Dante Lam 林超賢
座落在北角道，橫跨英皇道的天橋。在橋上是拍攝北角英皇道車水馬龍，喧鬧擠迫的好地方。
在電影《証人》 (The Beast Stalker)中，張家輝 (Hung / Nick Cheung) 與謝霆鋒 (Sergeant Tong / Nicholas Tse) 就在這裡上演了一場追逐戲。
This footbridge on North Point Road steps over King’s Road. From there the vantage point on the crowded and busy road is very good. This is the site of a chase scene between Hung (Nick Cheung) and sergeant Tong (Nicholas Tse) in Beast Stalker.

Oil Street Waterfront / 油街海傍
Location: North Point, HONG KONG Film:A.V. (2005) / Dir: Pang Ho-cheung 彭浩翔
If one dislikes the crowd of Tsim Sha Tsui, this is an alternative place to appreciate Victoria Bay. Many restaurants serve delicious and affordable meals. In AV, this is where Uncle (Jim Chim) called his students a selfish generation in his rap song.

Watson Road / 屈臣道
Location: North Point, HONG KONG Film:Full Alert 高度戒備 (1997) / Dir: Ringo Lam 林嶺東
這裡有不少車房及舊式工業大廈。在電影《高度戒備》(Full Alert) 中，台灣匪幫與警方在這裡
上演了追逐戰。
There are many garages and old industrial buildings. In Full Alert, this is the locale for a chase scene between police forces and Taiwanese criminals.

Cheung Lee Restaurant / 祥利冰室
Location: Electric Road, HONG KONG Film:Sparrow 文雀 (2008) / Dir: Johnnie To 杜琪峰
Boasting rows of wooden tables and benches, Cheung Lee Restaurant is a typical 1960s-1970s tea house. Nostalgia is present at every corner. The pickpockets in Sparrow meet up for breakfast before going to work.
Note: this location is set to be demolished end of june 2010.

Goldfinch Restaurant / 金雀餐廳
Location: G/F, 13-15 Lan Fong Road 蘭芳道, HONG KONG Film:In the Mood for Love 花樣年華 (2000) / Dir: Wong Kar-wai 王家衛 Film:The Final Victory 最後勝利 (1987) / Dir: Patrick Tam Kar Ming 譚家明
已超過40年歷史，是香港其中一間碩果僅存的老牌西餐廳。處身在餐廳中，
就好像回到1960s似的。今天在餐廳內看到的一椅一桌，甚至是那餐牌，
都是於六十年代沿用至今。這裡是電影《最後勝利》(The Final Victory)﹝王家衛編劇﹞
的拍攝場地，當然不得不提的是《花樣年華》(In the mood for love) 中，
周慕雲 (Chow Mo-wan / Tony Leung) 與蘇麗珍 (Su Li-zhen / Maggie Cheung) 互相試探的地方。
值得一提的是這裡設有「花樣年華」及「2046」套餐，可一試。
This place has been there for more than 40 years. This is one of the oldest Western restaurants remaining in HK. Walking in will trigger nostalgia of the 1960s. Tables and chairs, even menus, have been in use since the 1960s.
Many scenes for the Patrick Tam-directed and Wong Kar-wai-written The Final Victory were shot here. This is of course the place where Chow Mo-wan (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) and Su Li-zhen (Maggie Cheung) meet and observe each other in In the Mood for Love.
Special In the Mood for Love and 2046 menus are now served.
