HKCinemagic:
Stephen Chow is a huge star in Hong Kong. Did you feel it was like a big success to manage to act in one of
Fight Back to School 2, a sure hit at the local box office?
Jonathan Isgar:
The fad at the time on TV was ridiculous humour, non sense, I’d never seen it so it didn’t mean too much to me. |
HKCinemagic: Gordon Chan is supposed to be a very humble and nice person. Did you feel that way when working with him? Was he always in control of Stephen Chow?
Jonathan Isgar:
Honestly, I don’t remember, but there’s Mark King again. I didn’t realise we did so much together. |
HKCinemagic:
Your acting and the acting of your colleagues Mark King and Mark Houghton seems influenced by Die Hard . Was that the reference you had in mind? |
Jonathan Isgar:
Ha-ha, more like Die Hard influenced by HK action. HK is the home of action, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, you’ve only got to live there, its non-stop. |
HKCinemagic:
Did you get any instruction on how to shoot and use weapon?
Jonathan Isgar:
We had armoury guys handling all the weapons and explosives, and directing those scenes. |
HKCinemagic: The final set seemed very steamy and full of obstacles. Was it hard to shoot the gunfight sequence in such an environment?
Jonathan Isgar: Maybe I’ll have to actually watch these movies (laughing). |
