The expression “tough broad” comes to mind whenever viewing Deannie – tough and in your face is how she usually plays it.
Two great roles that exemplify her are Prince Charming in which she refers to her son, Andy Lau as “asshole” and in Murder when she (as a nurse) leans over a patient and says “ Are you still alive?” As the protagonist in Soul - a HK version of Gloria - Deannie gives a brilliant performance as a woman having to protect a child from gangsters and trying to discover what the last fifteen years of her life has meant.
