Taylor Wong was born into a motion picture family, his father Wong Yiu a prominent Cantonese film director of the 1960’s.
Taylor began his directing career in television, moving to the big screen upon his signing up with Shaw Brothers in 1980. His Shaw Brothers films represent a variety of genres, including historical martial arts Buddha’s Palm, contemporary romance Behind The Yellow Line, and courtroom drama Law Or Justice.
Outside of Shaw Brothers, Wong had a productive working relationship with Chow Yun-fat, resulting in Spiritual Love, Rich And Famous, Tragic Hero, and Triads - The Inside Story.
