HKCinemagic : The movie was produced by Sharon Yeung Pan Pan. When did you meet her?
M Y : I think it was on Snake Charmer. Maybe she saw me somewhere and liked me. So she just arranged us to meet for the movie. After that, she always came back to ask me to work more.

HKCinemagic : How would you describe your working relationship with her?
M Y : Very good. She always treats me like her daughter.

HKCinemagic : Between the career of Yeung Pan Pan and the one of your mother, which one would you like to imitate? ( Cheng Pei Pei laughs in the background)
M Y : I think it would be my mother. Sharon is more only Kung Fu. But my mother, I feel, is more versatile. She does Kung Fu, she does comedy and now she has a talent to do evil part. I hope I can be a bad guy later on. I think right now nobody wants me to be a bad guy (smiling).

Snake Charmer

HKCinemagic :Pan Pan seems to have an ambition for you to become an action star.
M Y : Yeah, I think so too. She hopes to be the one to bring me out as a new martial art star.

HKCinemagic :Do you think you are on a good way for that?
M Y : I think people now, they know I can do Kung Fu but, maybe, I haven't had the opportunity to do one movie that would be a showcase of my skills. Because, it's one thing to do many, many martial arts movies but it's another thing to be lucky to have a script like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Zhang Ziyi was lucky to have this chance so everyone knows her. For me, even if I've done more movies than her doing Kung Fu, because I haven't found that one movie, that one script, the one director, no one really knows.
