One-armed Swordsman
One of the most famous and popular characters in martial arts.

His origin can be found in a novel by Jin Yong "The Mythical Crane Hero", of which the protagonist, Yang Guo loses his arm, cut by his sister. This handicapped hero may come from the blind samurai Zatoichi (he even fights against him in a Japanese-Hongkongese co-production!). Yet it's Chang Cheh's film The One Armed Swordsman with Jimmy Wang Yu which imposes him in everybody's memories. The other great one-armed man was also played by David Chiang in the cult The New One Armed Swordsman recently followed by Vincent Chiu Man Chuk in The Blade by Tsui Hark. Between the two, Daniel Lee pays homage to the hero with his contemporary What Price Survival.

OST / Music Score
In Hong Kong, the capital city of piracy and imitation, it is not unusual to find in some films a soundtrack which belongs to another work or composer. Generally, the beneficiaries are totally unaware that their scores are used in a kung fu film of the former colony. But that is the magic of Hong Kong !
